Raku with Ahi Wāhine: Night Firing

Discover the magic of Raku, a distinctive ceramic art form celebrated for its bold, unpredictable glaze effects. In this hands-on workshop, you will glaze a bisque-fired pottery piece and watch it transform through the dramatic firing process.

As each piece is placed into fiery sawdust, the heat and smoke create rich textures, metallic finishes, and vibrant colour variations. No two pieces turn out the same, making Raku an exciting and rewarding creative experience.

Children (16 or younger) should be accompanied by a parent.

Firing pieces will be available onsite for purchase, ranging from $5 to $20.
