Shenaragh and her mother, Cheryl, are born, bred and based in Whanganui. As the mother of a person with spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, Cheryl has long been dedicated to supporting Shenaragh to live as fully and independently as possible, driven by determination and love.

Over her 31 years, Shenaragh, a half Māori and half Tongan wahine, has journeyed from silence to finding her voice through an eye-controlled communication device. She is a world gold medallist in salsa dancing in Miami, has studied Te Reo at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, and is believed to be the first person with high support needs to undertake a Diploma in Rākau Rongoā.

Together, Cheryl and Shenaragh channel their passion for design through kitea.nz (To Be Seen), creating vibrant wheel covers that celebrate individuality and challenge perceptions of disability. Through their work, they aim to spark conversation, break down stereotypes, and help build a more inclusive world where everyone feels seen, valued and able to express themselves with pride.
