Tyrone Ohia is an award-winning Māori designer and creative director of Auckland-based studio Extended Whānau. Raised in Whanganui and a graduate of the Whanganui School of Design, his work is known for weaving Māori knowledge, storytelling and whakapapa into contemporary design practice. Across graphic design, public art and community-led projects, he has helped shape some of Aotearoa's most significant cultural identities and public-facing campaigns.

His portfolio includes the visual identity for Toi Tū Toi Ora, the contemporary Māori art exhibition at Auckland Art Gallery, the identity for the Matariki public holiday, the Wairau Māori Art Gallery, Together for Te Tiriti, and the concept and brand for Whanganui's iconic Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery.

Tyrone's pioneering approach to design has earned widespread recognition, including multiple Purple Pins at the Best Design Awards. In 2024, he became the first Māori designer elected to the prestigious Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), acknowledging his contribution to design both in Aotearoa and internationally.
