Jared Forbes is the founder and CTO of ORBE, a spatial media company whose camera systems and software enable the sports and entertainment industries to create and distribute live and on-demand immersive experiences.

A 1996 honours graduate of the Whanganui School of Design, Jared’s path moves from illustration and interaction design, through his interactive exhibition studio, Lumen Digital, to seven years working in immersive production for live music and combat sports. His work now sits at the frontier of neural rendering and volumetric capture.

Returning to where his design education began, Jared argues that across every tool he’s worked with — airbrush to AI — the concept and craft outlast the technology that delivers it.
