Anique is a passionate advocate for community-led public art in Whanganui, where she works as a Community Activator for Whanganui District Council. She is particularly interested in the opportunities public art creates for connection, recognition and reflection. In her role, Anique works alongside community groups to bring creative aspirations to life. Alongside managing arts funding, she has helped deliver projects including Shopfront Canvas, which transformed vacant shopfronts with works by local artists, and Waka Kotahi's Streets for People programme, where local stories were woven into placemaking through art.
