Alix Abanda is an Associate Lighting Designer at Beca and leads the lighting studio. She has over 15 years of experience and has been based in Auckland since 2017, following earlier work in France and Spain.

She focuses on inclusive urban lighting, combining dark-sky principles, biodiversity, CPTED, and neurodivergent-friendly design to create healthier night environments. She is a recognised member of IESANZ (MIES) and a Professional Member of DINZ (PDINZ), reflecting her standing in the industry.

Key projects include Te Manawataki o Te Papa in Tauranga and Te Ara Tukutuku in Auckland. Alix is known for advancing lighting design through leadership and advocacy.
