Bill McKay is a lecturer at the University of Auckland’s School of Architecture, Planning and Design where he teaches project and practice management as well as design, so has a deep interest in how adaptive reuse can benefit the built environment in times of change. He has been a frequent contributor to Architecture NZ where he has reviewed several adaptive reuse buildings, as well as engaging in several projects of the same sort in his own practice.

He is also a frequent media commentator and writer on architectural and urban issues with his own regular slot on Radio New Zealand’s Nine to Noon. Most recently he has co-edited Urban Aotearoa; the Future For our Cities, a compendium of essays about the built environment by a range of significant thinkers.
