Te Ao Hou Marae is based in Aramoho, Whanganui, and is an active marae, community hub and kaupapa Māori development space. The marae supports a wide range of activities including whakairo, waka kaupapa, mara kai, food resilience, whānau wellbeing, rangatahi engagement, and community-led initiatives.

A major focus for Te Ao Hou is the revitalisation of mātauranga Māori through practical, hands-on activity. The marae has an active carving shed and is home to ongoing whakairo work connected to the restoration and development of the marae. This includes opportunities for experienced carvers, emerging carvers, rangatahi and whānau to be involved in the continuation of traditional knowledge and creative practice.

The marae is also developing as a resilience and wellbeing hub, with initiatives connected to food sovereignty, environmental restoration, off-grid infrastructure, community preparedness and whānau support. Te Ao Hou is not just a venue, but a living space where art, culture, whakapapa, community and future planning are all connected.
