Situated in the CBD of Whanganui, New Zealand, Lockett Gallery is a professional space exhibiting the work of published illustrators. The mission statement is to acknowledge, exhibit and celebrate the talent, wisdom and skills of illustrators from all over the world.

Lockett Gallery is positioned across the road from our award-winning, independent book store, Paige’s Book Gallery. Established for 18 years, Paige’s Book Gallery attracts customers and clientele from not only the length and breadth of New Zealand, but also the wider world.

Tucked in alongside is Lucy Lockett’s Pocket, a publishing house specialising in black and white illustration. All three entities jigsaw together, inter-connect and support each other - at the same time celebrating their individual focus. The gallery, the book store and the publishing house are owned by the Stead family: for whom books, creativity and an appreciation of illustration are held in high regard.
